A tense situation prevails in Visakha Agency area, where Maoists have killed two persons within a span of two days. They killed one Sivaiah on the pretext that he was a police informer, a couple of days ago. Last night, they killed former sarpanch Venkata Ramana, blaming him for working in favour of bauxite mining. They destroyed several houses, in the village. They stuck posters urging the villagers not to take part in the Janmabhoomi programme and warned TDP and BJP of dire consequences. The sudden resurgence of Maoist activity has alerted the police, who have intensified their raids.
