Jihadists in Syria posing a direct threat to Russia, Putin has told a defence meeting in Moscow, adding that any targets threatening the country's military there should be destroyed. Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said Islamic State Group's influence in Syria continues to expand. Putin said that 60,000 ISIS terrorists are present in Syria and Iraq. He further said that the ISIS controls 70 per cent of Syrian territory.
