The historical city of Chennai is flooded with rains and the city has been submerged with the record rainfall in 100 years. The city registered a rainfall of 37.4 cms in just 24 hrs and the highest rainfall is registered at Thambarum area in the outskirts of the city with 49 cms of and the airport is registered with the rainfall of 35 cms. Winter monsoon rains have lashed coastal areas in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu - especially the capital Chennai. . . . . .
