The government was able to control illegal sand mining to a large extent. Releasing a White Paper on sand reaches, the CM said that 387 sand reaches have been identified in the state. Mining was taken up in 368 sand reaches. About 1.37 cubic meters of sand was sold. The highest income was bagged at Rs. 147.37 crores in East Godavari district. Advanced technology was used to stop illegal sand mining. The sand reaches were given to 4,023 self-help groups.
