Incessant rains from the past two weeks, in Rayalaseema and south coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh state, have caused rivers and lakes to overflow, washing away even well constructed roads, in the towns. While, the roads resemble lakes, water has entered houses in low-lying areas. Lakes have breached, causing the water to rush on to agriculture land nearby, making them unworthy of cultivation. Chittoor, Nellore, Kadapa, Tirupati and Tirumala are the worst-hit.
