In response to a call by all left parties, traders downed shutters and transport services came to a standstill in Visakhapatnam district, as part of a bandh to protest against GO 97 of the AP government, allowing bauxite mining. At Paderu, even ruling party activists, protested by kneeling. Activists of tribal organisations and left parties staged a dharna in front of Paderu bus depot. At Araku they staged a dharna. Peeleru, Dorakonda and Chintapalli areas were affected.
