A committee organising Durga Puja in Kolkata has made an 88-feet tall idol of the Goddess Durga, claiming it to be world's tallest. The goddess' idol, which is made of fibre-glass, has been created by artist Mintu Pal and over 40 other artists. It took them around six months to create the idol. Joint Secretary of Deshapriya Park Puja Committee, Sudipto Kumar, said the idea of making the tallest idol of Goddess Durga was inspired from a Lord Buddha sculpture in China. The idol now stands tall in Kolkata's Deshapriya Park and is open for the public.
