Not all new iPhones have the same processor chip. Apple was using two different sources for the A9 chip in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The chips differ slightly in size, but appear to have largely identical performance. Battery life on the iPhone 6S may vary if you have a model built with a Samsung chip or a TSMC chip. Apple issued an official statement stating that actual battery life of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, even taking into account variable component differences, vary within just 2 to 3 per cent of each other.
