Tariq Ali (35), a network designer, puts his successful corporate career in Australia on hold once every year to return to his village in Kashmir. His initiative to clean up the village now has over 100 members after just a few years. Two years ago, the main marketplace at Tujar village in Sopore was a dumping ground for garbage. The Budshah canal that cuts across the village turned into a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Tariq formed Tujar Go Green Society and has been taking up cleanliness initiative since then and tracking developments through social media.
