Passenger traffic grew by leaps and bounds at the Gannavaram airport. Though there are no international flights, air passenger traffic grew by 100 per cent this year when compare to the previous year. The officials have prepared to upgrade it to an international export. The development works are going at a brisk pace. The government is yet to acquire 690 acres required for the airport. The airport caters to the needs of Guntur, Krishna, Prakasa, East and West Godavari districts.
