Guards at La Reforma prison in Costa Rica caught a pigeon carrying drugs worth US$ 281. Pigeons have been used as a courier to carry messages but now they are being used to smuggle drugs. The guards noticed the bird and caught it. They found 14 gm cocaine and 14 gm marijuana strapped to the bird's chest. Birds are used to smuggle narcotics in Columbia and Argentina also. Cats and dogs are also being used to smuggle narcotics in to the prison. The captured pigeon will be kept in a local zoo.
