A medical shop owner, Parmathma's lone battle against illegible prescriptions by doctors, resulted in the Union Health ministry directing doctors to write prescriptions in bold and legible letters. Paramthama, who read about the death of a girl because she was given the wrong injection, was moved by the incident. He wrote to the Medical Council of India and later, approached the HC, which directed the MCI to take necessary steps. Ultimately, Paramatha's plea was recognised by the Health Minister that made a public announcement on the issue on July 29th.
