A 22-year-old patient was saved after a successful and well-coordinated heart transplant, that took place in the Mumbai city. Green corridors created in Pune and Mumbai has saved the patient in Mulund's Fortis hospital after receiving a heart from a brain dead woman in Pune's Jehangir hospital. The Pune traffic police, the Airport Authority of India and the Mumbai Traffic Police have played a vital role in carrying out all the arrangements for the green corridor. Director of cardiac sciences at Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai, Dr K R Balakrishnan, who was the transplant specialist flown to Mumbai for the path-breaking surgery.
