The Andhra Pradesh government is gearing up to enforce helmet rule for all two-wheeler riders strictly from today. The rule received mixed response from the public. Fine up to Rs 2,000 will be imposed for riding a two-wheeler without a helmet. Besides this the driving licences will be seized. Meanwhile, helmets price skyrocketed in the state. The officials have not given much publicity to the new rule. A section of the people were of the opinion that the helmet rule will lead to rise in chain snatching cases.
