Several AP ministers were busy elsewhere, before and even after the incident where 27 persons died in a stampede, at Rajahmundry Pushkar Ghat. Most of them were either in Japan or in the US attending TANA conference, just before the Pushkarams started. The less said the better of East Godavari district in-charge minister, Uma Devineni, who underestimated the crowds and directed the officials over arrangements, accordingly. He was conspicuous by his absence after the incident.
