Nearly 1.7 lakh pilgrims took a holy dip in Godavari river at Bhadrachalam on the first day of Pushkarams. The pilgrims came from distant places in buses. The journey was long and the buses were inadequate, they said. Most of them performed 'pitru pujas', a ritual that is practised during Pushkarams. They later waited in long queues for hours to have a darshan of Lord Ramachandra.
