In the history of lawn tennis, for the first time, Indian players have created records. Leander Paes won the mixed doubles event of the Wimbledon Championship partnering with Martina Hingis. It is Paes's 16th Grand Slam trophy. They have registered win against Alexander Peya and Timea Babos, in London. Another Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has made history by becoming the first from the country to win a women's doubles Grand Slam trophy partnering with Martina Hingis of Swiss. On the other hand, youngster Sumit Nagal has registered his name in the history books as he became the only sixth Indian to win a Grand Slam junior title after winning the boys doubles trophy at the Wimbledon championships partnering with Nam Hoang Ly, in London.
