A new one rupee note has been reintroduced after a gap of 20 years. Interestingly, the cost of printing one rupee note is Rs 1.14, which is more than its value. The note bears the signature of finance secretary instead of Governor of RBI, that was prevalent earlier. It is to be mentioned here that the Union Finance Ministry after a gazette-notification dated December 16, 2014 has re-issued one-rupee notes on March 6, 2015 at Shrinathji Temple (Nathdwara), Rajasthan.
