The Supreme Court on Wednesday found fault with the Madras High Court for grating a bail to rapist to enter into a settlement with the victim. While dealing with another rape case of Madhya Pradesh, the SC made these remarks and stated that rapists deserve punishment. The SC said that rapists entering into an agreement with the victim will not be valid. However, the SC said that Wednesday's verdict will not be applicable to such kind of marriages in the past. Women organisations opposed the Madras High Court's suggestion of allowing rapist to enter into a settlement with the victim.
