Kolleru, the biggest fresh water lake in Asia, has become a haven for land grabbers. At present the lake has disappeared as huge procliners are seen digging in the lake bed. The lake that is home to 180 species of hibernating birds, has now turned into a graveyard for them. Land grabbers and poachers have ravaged the lake bed, despite several court strictures against them. Environmentalists are demanding action to revive and protect the lake.
