In the wake of good start to the monsoon, farmers are busy sowing the kharif crop. In Srikakulam district, 2,15, 342 hectares are under cultivation. Paddy will be sown in 1,29,000 hectres. In the remaining hectares, commercial crops will be sown. Seed distribution is completed in most places and farming activity began early in the season. As water resources seem to be good, officials are hopeful of a good harvest.
