Prime Minister Narendra Modi said 40 per cent of Indian population is living in urban areas. Addressing an event at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday after launching the Smart Cities Mission scheme, the PM said that NDA's goal is to bring changes in the urban living standards. "Our goal is not just to provide houses to poor but make them to lead better lives," he added. The PM said Centre is focusing on allowing FDI into urban development. Referring to tax collection, Modi praised Hyderabad for implementing better taxation system and achieving unprecedented growth.
