As a part of development works, nearly 3,000 acres of hilly regions in Visakha are about to be denotified. Earlier too some 5,640 hectares of forest land was denotified. But until now no land was given to replace the green belt. Nearly 43 per cent of the green cap was destroyed in the Hudhud cyclone recently. But plans are in place to denotify Seetamakonda Reserve Forest and surrounding areas for tourism and housing projects.
