The AP government and officials, who expected a overflowing treasury after the partition of the State, were disappointed. They had increased the stamp duty and registration fee with the hope of filling the State coffers. But the selling and buying of land was at a low scale during the last one year, leaving the government with empty pockets. Also AP has failed to attract investments by industrialists as the Centre is indecisive over according it special status.
