In a move that could threaten the very existence of villages in Rayalseema, Karnataka government is planning to take up a new project to dam Tungabhadra river within its borders. It named the project as Bhadra Meldande project. If the new project comes into existence then farmers in the three Andhra pradesh districts of Anantapur, Kurnool and Kadapa are bound to suffer.
