British has ruled India in the past and slowly the Indian origin Britishers are making their impact in UK politics. While the Conservatives and The Scottish Nationalist party celebrated their unprecedented victories, the UK elections also showcased strength of representatives of the British Indian community. It was a big day for Indian origin candidates from the two big parties as they registered victories with impressive margins. Representing the Conservatives, Rishi Sunak won the Richmond seat, Priti Patel retained her Witham seat, Alok Sharma retained his Reading West seat and Shailesh Vara retained his seat of Cambridgeshire North West.
