YS Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, was a two-time Chief Minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, serving from 2004 to 2009. Today marks his 12 years anniversary of his journey after becoming CM of AP. His Padhayatra before becoming Chief Minister was a revelation. In 2003 he took up a three-month-long 'paadayaatra' of 1475 km during the hot summer months, across several districts in Andhra Pradesh as a part of his election campaign. This led his party to victory in the following general and assembly elections held in 2004, assuming power.
