Chittoor District is famous for red sandalwood smuggling and it is now turning the hub of double headed snake (Poodu Pamu) smuggling also. The negligence of the forest department is helping the double headed smuggling grow in the District and at the same time it is paving for the extinction of these snakes. A German scientist has discovered these snakes in 1801 in Chittoor and these rare species are only present to India . . .. .
