After 23 years down since Grant Elliott was suspended from playing cricket in his school at Johannesburg, because of staying at home to watch the game between Australia and South Africa of 1992 World Cup, he became star at Eden Park, bringing the curtains down on the hopes of the country where he grew up. "It's funny how life works, but it's amazing to be at Eden Park today and hit the winning runs for New Zealand against South Africa. It's really been an awesome journey," Elliott said. He also said that he would prefer playing Australia in finals, because of the way they played against them in SCG.
