Though she is three years old, Shivani Cherukuri is no dunce with a bow and arrow in hand. She trains at the Volga Archery academy in Vijayawada headed by her father Cherukuri Satyanarayana who lost his son, Lenin, an international archer, in a road accident on the way from Commonwealth Games in 2010. Carrying the legacy forward, Shivani is all set to enter the India Book of Records as she is on course to score 200 points in the five-meter and seven metre distances on March 24. She will be firing 72 arrows in 24 attempts with two minutes duration for three arrows for both distances.
