An eagle called Darshan, mounted with a camera, has set a new world record. It accomplished this from the top of Dubai's Burj Khalifa on Saturday by diving 830 m setting the record for the highest-known bird flight from a man-made structure. This was carried live by the BBC and organized by an NGO Freedom Conservation to draw attention to the challenges faced by endangered eagles. The camera weighed only 300 grams and the eagle was expected to reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
