A rare spectacle enthralled devotees when Sun rays have touched the presiding deity of Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple at Arasavalli of Srikakulam in the early hours of Tuesday. Hundreds of devotees had 'darshan' of the Lord in the early hours on Tuesday and watched the spectacle. It was a rare incident as Sun rays touched the deity for 9 minutes while they never stayed for more than four minutes in the past. The temple was built in such a way that the early morning Sun rays fall on the feet of the deity twice a year, in March and in October.
