Opposition leader and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan termed the attack as an act of 'barbarism'. Speaking to media personnel, he said that his party and himself is with the families of students who are attacked by the Militants. He said that he postponed his party's countrywide protests scheduled for December 18, after the attack on Army Public School in Peshawar. He said that the militants should be severely punished as there is no justification for this kind of attacks.
