The BJP minority government of Devendra Fadnavis has won a confidence motion in the Maharashtra Assembly through a voice vote on Wednesday and will remain in power. Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party offered its support to BJP to ensure a stable government in the state. The Shiv Sena's legislators shouted and voted against the government. Earlier, BJP candidate won the Speaker's post unopposed, after Shiv Sena and Congress candidats withdrew their candidatures.
