Vizianagaram has suffered heavily due to the deadly cyclone Hudhud. Loss of property is estimated to be around Rs. 400 Cr as per primary reports of officials. It could take a week's time for the conditions to return to normal. Government is so far unable to provide essential commodities to the victims and people are facing major difficulties in receiving the essentials. There is water crisis in Vizianagaram city itself and the condition of villages and other towns could be worse. Due to cyclone, sugar cane, paddy, banana, maize crops have been severely damaged in 40,000 acres.
