Around 20 people have been killed after a blizzard struck the high altitude mountain region of Nepal's Himalayas. Many of the dead are foreign trekkers. Two Israelis, two Poles and eight Nepalese were killed when the snow storm hit a point on the Annapurna Circuit, a popular mountaineering destination. Weather forecasters said the blizzard was caused by a cyclone 'Hudhud' that hit neighboring India few days ago. The Nepalese army, working with local mountain guides, have been attempting to rescue stranded climbers and recover the bodies using a helicopter, but the weather conditions have hampered rescue efforts.
