A farmer has committed suicide at Kallepally of Nalgonda District on Wednesday. The farmer, Malothu Ravi, father of two children, was cultivating cotton on a 6-acre land and has invested more than Rs.80000 this year. Due to inadequate rainfall, dried up bore wells and scarce irrigation facilities, he suffered heavy losses due to crop failure. Unable to pay off his debts taken for this crop, he has ended his life. With this, the death toll of farmers reached 38 in Nalgonda district. In Sultanabad of Karimnagar district also, a farmer named Madanayya also committed suicide. At least 207 farmers have committed suicide in Telangana in the last four months, according to sources.
