Hyderabad, Aug.25: Endowment & Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today said Telangana State could successfully wade out of the water scarcity problem with signing a historic pact with Maharashtra Government to construct barrages across the Godavari and other tributaries. The TRS government will construct barrages as per schedule and move ahead with its plan to irrigate one crore acres over five years.

The minister participated in Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at Venugopala Swamy temple in KPHB Colony in Kukatpally in the city and performed special pujas on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the minister maintained that the Krishashtami festival is being celebrated across the country as devout turn up with festive fervor and gaiety.

The State government is focusing on developing the temples in the State. “We are spending huge funds for temples development to spread the culture and tradition of our state. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is committed to give required funds for development of the temples with all facilities”, he said. The temples, he said, will get a facelift with government initiatives.
