Bank Employees to Join All India Strike on September 2

Hyderabad, Aug.23: Employees and workers from commercial banks, regional rural banks, cooperative sector, NABARD and reserve bank of India decided to join the nation-wide strike on September 2, at the call of central trade unions, industry level federations from banks, insurance, state and central government employees, defence and others public sector undertakings.

The Bank Employees Federation of India, A P and Telangana, in a press note, appealed to all the bank employees to hold demonstrations and rallies on the strike day and join protest programs organized by central trade unions.

The Federation alleged that in spite of the strong opposition from bank employees unions and democratic forces in the country, government of India has been sailing on its reforms path with doubled vigor. Apart from the disinvestment process private and corporate individuals were appointed as chairman and managing directors of large public sector banks, licenses were given to corporate companies to start banks, allotment of insufficient capital and forcing to market capitalization which leads to privations.
