Related image Hyderabad, Aug.18: Telangana BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy today demanded a judicial inquiry into the suicide of T Ramakrishna Reddy, police Sub-Inspector of Kukunurpally police station in Medak district. The SI committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver on Tuesday night.

Speaking to media persons at the State party office here, Nagam urged the High Court and State Human Rights Commission to take cognizance of Ramakrishna Reddy’s suicide, who became a victim of corrupt officials in his own department.

The BJP leader asked as to why Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who always claims that corruption has been eliminated in the system not responding to this incident even as SI named DSP and Circle Inspector in his suicide note alleging harassment by the both.

Nagam alleged that SI Ramakrishna Reddy became the victim of corrupt officials. Ramakrishna Reddy had worked in Indian Army before joining the Police Department. Ramakrishna Reddy, who took bullets while fighting against the enemies of the country was not able to fight against the corrupt officials in Telangana State, and he became their victim, the BJP leader said.

He also urged Chief Minister KCR and DGP to intervene and do justice to the family of Ramakrishna Reddy. Nagam exhorted lower ranking police officers not to lose heart and fight against corrupt officials courageously.

Ramakrishna Reddy, 46, left a suicide note in which he stated he was unable to bear the harassment by the higher-ups. He reported to have spoken to some of his colleagues over the phone and told them he was going to take the extreme step. However, by the time one of his colleagues reached his home at the police quarters, he was lying in a pool of blood and was declared brought dead by the doctors.
