`Your problem is my problem' stumped TDP MPs

Sat, Aug 06, 2016, 01:02 PM
Senior politicians are good at doublespeak. So is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

When TDP MPs took an appointment to meet the Prime Minister on Friday, Modi told them, `Your problem is my problem!' There ended the matter.

The appointment was for 15 minutes, but it ended in 10 minutes.

Senior leader JC Diwakar Reddy explained to the media that they spoke for about 10 minutes. Modi patiently listened to them. Then he said, `Your problem is my problem.' That was the end of the matter. JC said they could speak no further.

They did explain only to the extent of people's sentiment regarding the Special Category Status.

They told the Prime Minsiter that the SCS was sentimentally strong from 6-year-old kid to 90-year-old man in the State. They also told him that the demand now turned into strong sentiment.

The TDP MPs told Modi that while it was an electoral promise of the BJP, going back on it now was not fair. They also stressed the importance of SCS for AP.

In spite of Modi saying `Your problem is my problem', Diwakar Reddy felt the Prime Minister wanted to do something for the State in his mind.

This is a story doing the rounds in twitter.
