Bhumana alludes to Gayopakhyanam: All parties indifferent to SCS

Thu, Jul 28, 2016, 02:08 PM
YCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Thursday made an interesting allusion that the demand for the Special Category Status is like the poetical rendering of `Gayopakhyanam', a Telugu drama about the tiff between Sri Krishna and Arjuna, induced by a flying Gandharva Gaya.

The allusion is reasonable to the extent that there is no outcome from the SCS situation AP is in. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the promise of SCS at Tirupati, and he has so far backed out of the promise. The ruling TDP which has to do its utmost is indifferent to the demand, saying it's not the universal solution to the problems of Andhra Pradesh, according to Bhumana.

The Congress, which has committed the blunder of dividing Andhra Pradesh, had done it in a slipshod manner in terms of revenue, denying drained out AP in the name of the Special Category Status for 5 years. The BJP leaders, Venkaiah Naidu and Sumshma Swraj, got it enhanced to 10 years. The Congress in the previous Lok Sabha agreed to 10-year SCS for AP.

Two-and-a-half years had passed, but AP continued to be denied of the SCS. All concerned are indifferent to the AP's woes.

Andhra Pradesh, without offending the gods, have got into the situation, purely because of the sins of the Congress and the BJP. But Andhra Pradesh is no Gaya the Gandharva. There maybe Ayarams and Gayarams, but AP plods on regardless.
