BJP couldn't care less for Stars Azad, Sidhu

Tue, Jul 26, 2016, 12:18 PM
As was expected, former star batsmen, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Kirti Azad, are making a common cause batt(l)ing against the BJP leadership for its partisan approach. Both have been winners. In one particular match against Pakistan, big-hitting Kirti Azad along with lower-order batsman, S. Madan Lal, had ensured a win by their mighty hits.

Ignoring all their good work for India and the party, the BJP is pushing both the star batsmen into the arms of AAP for gratis.

On Tuesday, Kirti Azad's wife, Poonam Azad, said as much that the BJP had done injustice to her and Kirti Azad. She is the BJP's official spokesperson.

Reacting to reports that this cricketing couple of the Azads was also joining the AAP, Poonam said, very much like Navjot Kaur, that they would soon be finalizing their future course of action.

In regard to the fellow-aggrieved Sidhu, Poonam justified the grievance of the Navjots, saying Sidhu was elected thrice from Amritsar. Therefore, it was totally unjustified to sacrifice the Amritsar seat by giving the ticket in the 2014 election to a non-Punjabi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, when it could have been easily won again against Capt Amrinder Singh of the Congress by Sidhu.

Kirti Azad was suspended by the BJP for indirectly making allegations against Arun Jaitley in connection with the Delhi Cricket Association corruption last year.

Significantly, both the former star cricketers had not said a word against Jaitley or the party, whom the top BJP leadership was owning a precious possession, and dumping all who even remotely might cast aspersions on him, whatever be their Star value.
