Sat, Jul 23, 2016, 05:36 PM
The Andhra Pradesh government is planning to set up a ceramic industrial township in an area of 3,000 acres in either of the Godavari districts or Krishna.

The Ceramic City will be on the lines of Morvi in Gujarat. It will make ceramic products and roof tiles.

Chief Minister Chadrababu Naidu held a meeting with the industrialists from Morvi on Friday and invited them to start industries to manufacture sanitaryware and ceramic tiles.

The Chief Minister explained about the availability of resources like uninterrupted power supply, abundant gas, water, land and mineral resources. He also mentioned about the abundant availability of soil, limestone, quartz and silicon sand in Andhra Pradesh needed for manufacturing of ceramics. This would help the industrialists to invest in AP, he added.

When the industrialists from Gujarat brought to the notice of the Chief Minister the problems of gas supply, the Chief Minister said the State government was in the process of setting up an LNG terminal at Kakinada sea port and the works of the gas pipeline are being done at a quick pace.

Following the assurances from the Chief Minister, the industrialists expressed interest for investing on a large scale in the State.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Mines and Geology Peethala Sujatha, Secretary to Government (Mines & Geology) M. Girija Shankar, Secretary to CM G. Sai Prasad and other officials.
