CPI demands action against defector Ravindra Kumar

Wed, Jul 20, 2016, 06:37 PM
State CPI secretary Chada Venkat Reddy on Wednesday called on Telangana Speaker S Madhusudana Chary and urged him to initiate action as per Anti-defection Law against Nalgonda district Deverakonda MLA Ramavat Ravindra Kumar for crossing over to the ruling TRS from his party.

Speaking to the media later, Venkat Reddy said Ravindra Kumar, who was elected from the Deverakonda Assembly constituency on the CPI ticket, defected to the ruling TRS. He demanded that the Speaker immediately take action against Ravindra Kumar as well as against all those who had defected to the ruling party for political benefits.

The CPI leader also said Ramavat Ravindra Kumar was expelled from the party for his defection.

However, the Deverakonda MLA defended his action, saying that he had joined the ruling TRS with the sole intention of developing his constituency.
