YCP MLA Chevireddy gets no respite from actionable cases

Sat, Jul 09, 2016, 03:00 PM
There is no respite for the YCP MLA Chevireddy Bhaskarreddy from the actionable cases he is being faced with and repeatedly being remanded to police custody. As if there are no jails in Chittoor district for the Chandragiri MLA, he was shifted to Cuddapah Central jail.

In between his jail sentences, Chevireddy told the media that he was raising strong objections against the administration and was preparing for the `Gadapagadapaku' mass contact programme. In a bid to ward him off, the administration was arresting him and putting him in jail.

However, he was resolved that whatever be the administrative action, he would expose the misdeeds of the Chandrababu government to thwart the mass contact programme. He was singled out because he was exposing the government.

The Chandragiri MLA was arrested on Thursday night for staging dharna at the sub-collector's office. He was remanded to 15 days custody. As he was released on bail on Saturday morning, he was again picked up the police at the Tirupati jail in connection with another case registered by the MR Palli police.

Chevireddy was presented before the court, and he was remanded to 14 days this time.

As the police feared that Chevireddy supporters would again stage dharna, instead of taking him to the Tirupati jail they took him to the neighbouring Cuddapah Central Jail.
