Telugu States to share Krishna waters without much ado

Tue, Jul 05, 2016, 01:56 PM
What the two Telugu States could not do on their own, the rain gods have solved the Krishna problem. With the Krishna appearing full in upstream and downstream States, and on the verge of floods, the Telugu States cooled down from their hot tempers and decided to share the waters, which might otherwise go waste, without much ado.

The two States Irrigation Secretaries, Shashibhushan Kumar (AP) and Vikas Raj (Telangana), met on Tuesday and decided to share the waters like last year. They also decided to accept whatever the Central experts committee would prescribe.

They decided that nitpicking is not useful at this time of the season when the water is full. They can share the waters.

Both the officials also agreed that in the maters of the Krishna, it is the Centre's word that is final.
