Kejriwal fudges, but fails to account for Modi cloth budget

Thu, Jun 30, 2016, 02:30 PM
While the Delhi government PR budget stands at Rs 526 crore as accepted by all the authorities, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal puts the figure at Rs 76 crore only. In order to give credence to his fugure, he used the account to hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Cagey Kejriwal claims his government's budget was less than that spent by Modi on his designer clothes. He calculates each dress worn by Modi at Rs 2 lakhs. Since he does not wear any dress twice, in 700 days of his rule Modi must have spent Rs 70 crore on his clothes itself.

Even by this manipulative calculation, Delhi publicity budget still stands the greater at Rs 76 crore. Kejriwal further fudges the figure by showing that Modi's underclothing might have cost Rs 5 crore in 2 years. Kejriwal did not go on to say whether Modi wore his underclothing twice after wash.

Even giving allowance to undergarments, Kejriwal account of Modi clothing still falls short of Rs 1 crore to account for the Rs 76 crore Delhi publicity budget.

Kejriwal, who was Income-tax commissioner, should get his math right not just for mudslinging but for running the administration also.
