PM tells Swamy not to attack his economists

Mon, Jun 27, 2016, 05:53 PM
At last Prime Minister Narendra Modi proactively intervened in the ruckus created by party leader Dr Subramaniam Swamy.

Modi said the remarks made by Dr Swamy against the RBI Governor, Dr Raghuram Rajan, and his own economic adviser, Dr Arvind Subramanian, were not proper.
He told Dr Swamy nobody is greater than the system. To question Dr Rajan's patriotism was futile.

Dr Swamy had come down heavily on Dr Rajan, saying he was not completely an Indian, he had a Green Card to work in the US and was systematically renewing his American option.

While Dr Swamy gunned for the soft targets of Dr Rajan and Dr Arvind, his main point of attack is ostensibly Finance Minister Arun Jaitley himself. Jaitley got wiser to the veiled attack, returned to India overnight cutting short his visit to Beijing and apparently persuaded Modi to tell Dr Swamy to close his lips.
