KCR leaves Mallannasagar compensation to affected farmers

Sat, Jun 25, 2016, 03:42 PM
Even as TDP working president Revanth Reddy was preparing to go on a 48-hour fast in support of the Mallannasagar oustees in 14 villages in Medak district, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday gave the choice of compensation to the affected farmers, thus taking the steam out of the opposition parties.

Whatever the farmers wanted in connection with the land acquisition would be implemented, the Chief Minister added.

There are two kinds of laws in relation to land acquisition. The first is the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, and GO No 123. Whichever the farmers prefered would be implemented, he added.

He wanted a vote on the choice by the farmers. Whichever the farmers preferred, all the related laws would be implemented, he said.

Thus the opposition which is gearing up for a massive agitation will have to await the farmers choice in the Mallannasagar issue.
